Charlie Houle will pay $1,250 in fines after breaching his conditions and operating a motor vehicle while prohibited.
The 25-year-old Cold Lake male pleaded guilty to the offence during his Nov. 26 appearance in the Bonnyville Provincial Courthouse.
Crown prosecutor Renato Di Lorenzo explained how on Aug. 1, Bonnyville RCMP were patrolling 51 St. when they spotted Houle behind the wheel of a pick-up truck. The officer knew Houle was prohibited from driving, and conducted a traffic stop.
After pulling over, Houle switched seats with the passenger of the vehicle in hopes of tricking the officer.
During a search of the vehicle, police located alcohol and ammunition.
Houle, who is well known to police in relation to prior incidences, was arrested for breaching his conditions.
Di Lorenzo was recommending $1,250 in fines, and Honourable Judge Kathleen Williams agreed.
