The Town of Bonnyville is asking residents to submit nominations of individuals or groups who have made an impact on the community, for the naming of future projects.

BONNYVILLE – The Town of Bonnyville has released a call for nominations from residents to nominate individuals or groups within the community who have made a positive impact on Bonnyville.

Those chosen will be considered for the naming of future projects, such as the naming of a new park.

“The Town of Bonnyville Naming Committee invites you to nominate residents who have made a significant impact on our community,” reads information from the Town of Bonnyville. “Help us recognize outstanding members of our community.”

The Naming Committee said this is a chance for residents “to celebrate individuals whose contributions have left a lasting legacy in the Town of Bonnyville,” and is seeking nominations for those who have made significant contributions to the community, or demonstrated exceptional service, leadership, or dedication that has had a positive impact on Bonnyville.

Nominations must be submitted by April 30, 2025, and submissions can be sent to [email protected] or given in person at Town Hall.

“Once received, the list of nominees will be reviewed by the Naming Committee, who will decide on the next steps for honouring these outstanding individuals,” according to the Town of Bonnyville.

Robynne Henry, communication coordinator for the Town of Bonnyville, explained that the Naming Committee came up with the idea, and has done it in the past to stockpile a list of potential names.

“This way, when they discuss potential projects, they have a list to reference to see if one fits the spirit of the new plan,” said Henry.
