RCMP make arrest after suspect flees collision in Iron River area

Police have charged a woman following a collision between a pickup truck and semi-truck on July 13 at about 7:20 a.m.

A truck that had been reported stolen days earlier was involved in a collision on July 13 in the Iron River area.

BONNYVILLE - Police have charged a woman following a collision between a pickup truck and semi-truck on July 13 at about 7:20 a.m., on Highway 55 in the Iron River area.

"Upon attending the scene, police discovered that the 2018 Dodge Ram pickup truck which was involved in the collision, had been reported as stolen to the Wainwright RCMP on July 11... and the female driver and lone occupant of the vehicle had fled from the scene on foot," according to information from RCMP. 

"Police conducted patrols in the area where they located and arrested the female driver without incident."

Robin Kelly Tizzard, 37, of Bonnyville was charged with several offences, including possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, failing to comply with conditions of a release order, and more.

Tizzard was held by RCMP for a Judicial Interim Release Hearing where she was released on a no cash deposit release order, with conditions. Her next court appearance is scheduled in Bonnyville Provincial Court for Aug. 6.
