Stolen property located by Bonnyville RCMP during search warrant

Bonnyville RCMP, along with members from the Lakeland Crime Reduction Unit and the RCMP Auto Theft Unit, executed a search warrant on a residence and vehicle in Bonnyville.

BONNYVILLE – The Bonnyville RCMP located stolen construction equipment.   

On May 12, Bonnyville RCMP members, along with the Lakeland Crime Reduction Unit (LCRU) and with the assistance of the RCMP Auto Theft Unit, executed a search warrant on a residence and vehicle in Bonnyville.   

During the search, officers located a large piece of stolen construction equipment, a Bomag packer, valued at over $100,000. Multiple stolen vehicles and stolen vehicle parts were also recovered and seized by police.   

Bonnyville RCMP Sgt. Kim Hillier said in a press release that this was an “excellent collaboration between specialized units and members on duty (that) brought this investigation to a successful conclusion. Combatting property theft and rural crime remains a top priority for our members.” 

Alfred Douglas Tizzard, 42, of La Corey has been charged with five counts of possession of stolen property over $5,000, four counts of possession of stolen property under $5,000, possession of an illegal substance, careless use of a firearm, and unauthorized possession of a weapon.   

Tizzard has been released from custody following a judicial interim release hearing and is scheduled to appear in Bonnyville Provincial Court on May 27.
