Cold Lake RCMP find loaded firearm in parked vehicle

Cold Lake RCMP charged two people after noticing a firearm inside a parked vehicle.

COLD LAKE - Police have charged two people after noticing a firearm inside a parked vehicle, while out responding to an unrelated police investigation.

On Oct. 5, Cold Lake RCMP were attending a residence when an officer noticed the firearm inside a vehicle.

"Following an investigation, officers discovered the firearm was loaded. A second firearm was also discovered inside, along with additional ammunition," according to information from RCMP.

Cold Lake RCMP arrested two people, as a result of the investigation.

Kyle Piche, 26, a resident of Cold Lake, has been charged with:

  • Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose x2
  • Possession of a restricted/prohibited weapon without license/registration x2
  • Unsafe storage of firearms x2
  • Unauthorized possession of a prohibited/restricted weapon x3
  • Unauthorized possession of a firearm x2

Piche was taken before a Justice of the Peace and was remanded into custody. He is scheduled to appear in court on Oct. 24 at the Alberta Court of Justice in Cold Lake.

Faith Macdonald, 30, also a resident of Cold Lake, was charged with:

  • Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose x2
  • Possession of a restricted/prohibited weapon without license/registration x2
  • Unsafe storage of firearms x2
  • Unauthorized possession of a prohibited/restricted weapon x3
  • Unauthorized possession of a firearm x2

Macdonald was taken before a Justice of the Peace and was released via a release order with conditions. She is scheduled to appear on Nov. 13 at the Alberta Court of Justice in Cold Lake.
