COLD LAKE - Imperial Cold Lake has announced the recipients of its 2024 Excellence in Supporting Culture Awards (ESCA).

The awards, now in their second year, were revealed on Dec. 16 and celebrate individuals who exemplify the values of a thriving workplace culture.

“The Culture Team at Imperial is focused on boosting and maintaining a healthy and engaging work culture,” said Alex McBrien, public and government affairs with Imperial.

This initiative revolves around six cultural experiences, “autonomy, belonging, compassion, contribution, growth, and trust.”

“The group, along with site leadership, propose ideas, initiatives and events that support building the culture we want at site – one built on collaboration, creativity, and a sense of belonging,” McBrien explained.

The 2024 award recipients include:

  • Adam Tilford (autonomy)

  • Carol Krsovan (belonging)

  • Stephen Follet (compassion)

  • Ashutosh Kujur (contribution)

  • Cameron Malo (contribution)

  • Lisa McRae (growth)

  • Andrea Purves (trust)

McBrien said, “Recognizing local individuals who foster positive work environments is essential for companies like Imperial. This practice encourages a culture of collaboration and respect, ultimately contributing to the company's overall success.”

Specific details of each nomination remain confidential.

“We won’t be able to get into the details of each nomination, however the award recipients are individuals who demonstrate experiences and behaviours that support Imperial’s company culture,” said McBrien.
