COLD LAKE - The Terry Fox Run is set to take place on Sep. 15, at the Cold Lake Energy Centre. This annual event, which supports cancer research, invites participants to come together for a 5 km walk.

Registration will begin at 9 a.m., with the run officially starting at 10 a.m.

Participants will follow a route that begins at the Energy Centre, heading towards 75 Avenue, looping back to 16 Avenue, and finishing at the starting point. According to information provided by the City of Cold Lake, this family-friendly event welcomes all forms of participation - whether you choose to walk, run, skate, use a wheelchair, or bring your dog on a leash.

“We have already surpassed the goal of $5,600, which is amazing,” said Katie Pankhurst, Community Event Programmer for the City of Cold Lake.

She added, “Fundraising efforts for cancer research have a huge impact on cancer patients and their families in our community. The Terry Fox organization is a great way to donate to help support not only our community, but other communities as well.”

According to the City of Cold Lake, donations are being accepted online through https://run.terryfox.ca/55546, as well as in person at the Cold Lake Energy Centre prior to the run.

“People can donate through the portal, or they can pick a team to donate to. We have some teams that are doing very well with fundraising,” said Pankhurst.
