U.S. aircraft arrives in 4 Wing Cold Lake for training

The Canadian Armed Forces will be conducting training in the vicinity of Cold Lake that will include United States Air Force aircraft between March 2 to 25.

The U.S. aircraft that will be arriving throughout the month at 4 Wing Cold Lake from March 2 to 25, will include the B-52 Bombers, Top Aces Alpha Jets, a Lear Jet, CF-188 Hornets, and CH-146 Griffons. 

COLD LAKE – Aircraft from the United States Air Force have already started arriving at 4 Wing Cold Lake to begin training exercises in the area. 

Late Thursday evening, 4 Wings Cold Lake Public Affairs officer Cpt. Sophie Quemeneur announced that the Canadian Armed Forces will be conducting training that will include United States Air Force aircraft between March 2 to 25. 

Quemeneur notes “All training is expected to take place within the confines of the 4 Wing Cold Lake Air Weapons Range.” 

The U.S. aircraft that will be arriving throughout the month will include the B-52 Bombers, Top Aces Alpha Jets, a Lear Jet, CF-188 Hornets, and CH-146 Griffons. 

“Residents of Cold Lake can expect to see and hear the jets throughout the training, the B-52 Bomber between March 4 and 12, and the CH-146 Griffons between March 18 and 24,” states Quemeneur.  

“The Canadian Armed Forces are extremely thankful for the support and understanding of the residents of Cold Lake as we conduct this valuable training.”
