Vermilion RCMP lay charges following copper wire theft

A man has been charged with several offences after Vermilion RCMP received a call of a suspicious vehicle that was stuck on a lease road.

VERMILION - A man has been charged with several offences after Vermilion RCMP received a call of a suspicious vehicle that was stuck on a lease road.

RCMP responded to the area of Range Road 72 and Township Road 520. 

"Members attended and located a male in the drivers seat, along with copper wire in the back seat. Investigation determined that the vehicle was stolen and a lease site had been broken into with various pieces of copper wiring stolen," according to information from Vermilion RCMP.

"Evidence was obtained that tied the driver of the vehicle to the break and enter."

Aaron Littlewolfe, 35, of Onion Lake, Sask., has been charged with the following offences:

  • Break and enter
  • Possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000 x2
  • Possession of identity document
  • Possession of break-in tools
  • Driving while prohibited

He was taken before a Justice of the Peace where he was released on a Release Order. He is scheduled to appear in court on March 11 at the Alberta Court of Justice in Lloydminster.
