Kordell Jackson isn't standing pat. The 25-year-old American defensive back started 16 games as a rookie last season with the Edmonton Elks.

CALGARY — Terry Wilson, who played nine seasons in the CFL and helped the Calgary Stampeders win the 1971 Grey Cup, has died. The Stampeders said in a release that Wilson died Wednesday after a long illness. He was 83.

Elliott Brown is taking the off-season to do more than just prepare for his first NFL opportunity. The six-foot-four, 225-pound defensive end signed a one-year deal with the Arizona Cardinals in January following two seasons with the Edmonton Elks.

WATERLOO, ONTARIO — Speed and strength earned Ope Oshinubi a spot in the CFL's national combine. The Alberta running back was among 11 players from the CFL's invitational combine to earn berths to the league's national event March 21-23 in Regina.

MONTREAL — The Montreal Alouettes signed American defensive lineman Mustafa Johnson to a contract extension Thursday. The deal keeps Johnson under contract through the 2026 season.

OTTAWA — The Ottawa Redblacks will be taking their training camp on the road. The CFL club announced Thursday it will hold this year's camp at Queen's University in Kingston, Ont.

Canada's national senior men's football team will face host Italy in an exhibition contest April 19 in Cagliari. It will mark the first meeting between the two countries.
