Aurora Middle School students perform holiday tunes

LAC LA BICHE - A large crowd filled the auditorium of Aurora Middle School on Dec. 12 for the Lac La Biche school’s annual Christmas show.

The event, which got underway in the early afternoon, featured performances by students from Grade 4 to 8.

As family and friends watched, the students sang a variety of popular holiday songs, including ‘Jolly Old St. Nicholas,’ and ‘Deck the Halls.'

The concert started off with a performance of ‘Oh Canada’ by a combined Grade 7 and Grade 8 class and finished with Grade 4 students singing ‘We Wish You a Merry Christmas.’

On Dec. 13, École Plamondon School hosted its annual Christmas concert and on Dec. 16, preschool, kindergarten and Grade 1 students at Vera M. Welsh Elementary School were scheduled to sing in their school’s seasonal choral and musical event.

Vera M. Welsh will also be hosting concerts on Dec. 17 (Grade 2) and Dec. 18 (Grade 3), while drama students from JA Williams (JAWS) High School in Lac La Biche are performing a theatrical version of S.E. Hinton’s iconic novel The Outsiders at Portage College’s McGrane Theatre from Dec. 17-19.

École Beauséjour in Plamondon is holding its Christmas concert on Dec. 19 at 7 p.m.
