LAC LA BICHE COUNTY - An investigation is underway into the deaths of two men found deceased inside of an ice-fishing tent in Crow Lake Provincial Park on Feb. 15.
Boyle RCMP responded to a report of two men found inside a tent in the provincial park along with Lac La Biche Fire and EMS and Fort McMurray Fish and Wildlife. Crow Lake Provincial Park is located 85 kilometres north of Wandering River on Hwy 63.
RCMP say preliminary investigations point to carbon monoxide poisoning from a heat source as the likely cause of death. An autopsy has been scheduled and investigation efforts continue.
Names of the two men have not been released, but one is identified as a 45-year-old resident of Fort McMurray, and the other a 37-year-old resident of Labrador City, N.L.
Alberta RCMP extend condolences to family and friends of the deceased.
