Although the warm days and long evenings of a northern Alberta summer are still several months away, there’s plenty of outdoor fun to be had throughout the cold winter months.

During the Christmas shoulder season, Lac La Biche residents Michelle Doerksen and Clem Bourassa-along with their dog-beat the cold with a winter bonfire in Alexander Hamilton Park.

The municipal park, which is located in the hamlet of Lac La Biche and is open year-round, features community firepit with available firewood, walking paths, a bike track, fishing pond, disc golf course, firepits, a community garden, as well as a mountain bike adventure park which opened in the fall of 2024.
