LAC LA BICHE - Lac La Biche County Libraries started off the new year by hosting its ninth annual Library Con event. The 2025 edition of Library Con took place at the Stuart MacPherson Public Library on Jan. 4.
The theme for this year’s event was myths and legends, and mythical creatures such as phoenixes, leprechauns, the Tooth Fairy, and even the colourful Lorax from the Dr. Seuss book and film of the same name were a common sight around the library.
Those who attended the most recent Library Con had the opportunity to participate in activities that included a scavenger hunt taking participants on an adventure through the library. There was also colouring, and dragon egg making.
Prizes were awarded to attendees who arrived dressed as their favourite characters. Photos were also taken in front of a specially-themed backdrop that resembled a scene from a fantasy story.
There were also a few vendors who sold locally-made products during the event.
