LAC LA BICHE – Unseasonably warm temperatures and wet conditions on the ice of Lac La Biche didn’t stop the MEGA truck races for the 2025 Lac La Biche Ice Festival from going ahead.
On the afternoon of March 1, a large crowd gathered on the ice to watch the spectacle, which involved monster trucks roaring through a track that had been constructed for the event. Running two at a time, the trucks kicked up snow and ice - and water - as they battled their way through the racecourse to the finish line.
Some of these trucks had been on display at the block party to kick off the festival, which took place on Feb. 28 on 102nd Street in downtown Lac La Biche.
