BONNYVILLE - Over a hundred people lined up at noon on Friday, June 3, to taste a variety of chilis prepared by 16 different organizations and businesses operating in the Bonnyville area.
Winning in the ‘Hot Stuff’ category for the spiciest chili was the Dove Centre. Cashco Financial took top spot for ‘Most Unusual.’
Taking the first-place price for ‘Tastiest’ chili was the Lakeland Co-op. The participants garnering the first-place trophy for ‘Team Spirit’ was the students from H.E. Bourgoin School.
The ‘People’s Choice Award’ was scooped up by Canadian Natural Resources Limited. And, last but not least, taking the most prestigious and largest trophy of the competition for the most ‘Sense-ational’ chili was the Town of Bonnyville with chili “like grandma used to make.”
The annual Chili Cook Off was hosted by the Bonnyville and District Chamber of Commerce.
