Birdie, bogey... and bear at Lac La Biche Golf Club

Golfers can sometimes come into contact with the wildlife on northern Alberta golf courses like the Lac La Biche Golf Club.

CLICK THE VIDEO LINK: Just playin' through.  A brown bear scurries across the seventh fairway at the Lac La Biche Golf Club on Friday morning. The bear was tracked across the course by club officials, golfers and grounds crews.

While wildlife encounters are common on the lakeside course — bears have been spotted several times in recent weeks on the course.

Wildlife officials are aware of the activity. Bear warnings are in place at the Sir Winston Churchill Provincial Park that is just a few kilometres north of the golf course. Bear activity has also been spotted in the adjacent Lakeview Estates subdivision.
