Fort McMurray RCMP seek suspect in Fort McKay death

RCMP have issued a province-wide alert for Fort McMurray resident Anton Grandjambe. Police say the 21 year old is wanted in connection to their ongoing investigation into last Tuesday's death of 60 year old Fort McKay resident Russell John Shott.

Police say the 21 year old is wanted in connection to their ongoing investigation into last Tuesday's death of 60 year old Fort McKay resident Russell John Shott.

Grandjambe's arrest warrant is for a charge of second-degree murder.

Wood Buffalo RCMP say that on December 5, at approximately 3:00 a.m., they received a report of a firearms complaint on Target Road in the Fort Mckay community, about 60 kilometres north of Fort McMurray. Upon arrival, RCMP located a the victim, suffering with life threatening inquires. A short time later, Shott succumbed to his injuries. RCMP are treating the death as a homicide and the Alberta RCMP Major Crimes Unit has taken over the investigation.

A second individual at the scene was reported to have injuries which were unrelated to this incident.

There is no information to suggest there is a risk to the general public at this time.

Grandjame is believed to be in the Edmonton area. He is described as having a medium complexion, 5’9” tall, 163 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes

RCMP say Granjambe is believed to be armed and dangerous. They advise the public not to approach Grandjambe if they see him and to call the local police, the Wood Buffalo RCMP or Crime Stoppers at 1800-222-TIPS.
