BONNYVILLE – A two-vehicle collision occurred on Range Road 460 on Dec. 16, where a truck appears to have rear-ended an SUV causing both vehicles to hit the ditch.

Bonnyville RCMP members responded to the call at 7:15 p.m.

The member who attended found the driver of the truck had a suspended licence and believed there was a reasonable suspicion of alcohol consumption, according to Bonnyville RCMP.

The driver of the truck allegedly failed an alcohol screening. As a result, the 22-year-old man was issued Provincial Sanctions for impaired driving along with Criminal Code charges of impaired driving and prohibited driving, as well as a provincial charge of driving an uninsured motor vehicle.

His first appearance in court is scheduled for Jan. 17, 2023.
