Tuesday saw a small but promising group of moms and tots on hand for the first Storytime, where library manager Daphne Schnurer read a snowman story before she and FCSS assistant Terry Shankowsky helped the youngsters make indoor snowmen with cotton balls, before they played Musical Snowmen, and enjoyed a snack.
Storytime, sponsored by the County of St. Paul and Elk Point FCSS, will be held every Tuesday morning from 11:00 to 11:30 a.m. until May.
Friday afternoon’s PD Fun Day event was dedicated to the older children, who created ‘tie-dye’ effect artwork, searched the library’s collection before making selections for books they would like to see added, brainstormed activity ideas for future PD Days and wound up with a card game.
Future PD Fun Days are scheduled for Feb. 13, March 9, April 9, May 7 and June 5, and Schnurer says she hopes to have a cooking session and at least one field trip during the series.
