Police looking for Lac La Biche man on first-degree murder warrant

Warrant issued for arrest of Lac La Biche man

Lac La Biche RCMP and the  Alberta RCMP Major Crimes Unit have issued an arrest warrant for Lorne Eugene Cardinal, 25, in connection with the death of Landy Shirt whose body was found in a Victoria Place apartment suite on Dec.18.

According to a missing person news release issued in early December by the Major Crimes Unit, Shirt, from the Maskwacis area of Central Alberta, was said to have been in the Lac La Biche and Goodfish Lake region two weeks before the body was found. At the time, police said the circumstances around Shirt's disappearance were suspicious.

Cardinal, a Lac La Biche man, has been charged with first-degree murder.
