The first weekend of the Lakeland Cup played out on the St. Paul soccer fields over the weekend with teams competing for top spot in the Lakeland District Soccer League and an entry into Provincials.
The weekend, hosted by the St. Paul Soccer Association, featured teams in the boys and girls U13 and U19 divisions. In all, 17 teams from across the Lakeland each played four games to determine each group's provincial representative.

Weekend two of the Lakeland championships is hosted in Vermilion over the June 23 weekend.

Alberta Soccer Association Provincial soccer events take place in cities across the province in July and August.
