Regular season hockey games wind down

Feature game: U-11 Clippers drop 5-2 decision to Lloyd

LAC LA BICHE - With provincials and league playoffs starting this coming week, the last of the regular season games across the Northeastern Alberta Hockey League took over area arenas over the weekend.

The Lac La Biche Clippers U-11 squad wrapped up the last of their 23 regular season games on Sunday afternoon, facing-off against the Lloydminster Blazers. The Clippers dropped the home game 5-2, which was the closest they have shared the scoreboard with the powerhouse blazers in any of their three matchups over the season.

The loss left the Clippers in sixth place of the eight-team division with eight points and a 4-16-3 record on the season. The win keeps Llloyd in second spot overall with 39 points and a 17-4-5 record, ten points back of league-leading Wainwright who won 24 of their 26 games this season.

A schedule for NEAHL playoff games for Lakeland teams will be announced soon on the league's website.
