LAKELAND - This year's five Tier 3 Lakeland FC soccer teams have started their season, shortly after many of the players wrapped up a successful Tier 4 outdoor season in their home communities - heading to Spruce Grove for the Moon Day Tournament July 12-14.

The Lakeland FC soccer teams are made up of players from across the Lakeland District Soccer Association. Teams play throughout July, and will head to Camrose for Tier 3 provincials in mid-August.

The Moon Day Tournament was a success for the Lakeland teams.

The U13 boys team would claim silver, while the U13 girls would also take home silver medals after a weekend of play.

The U15 boys' team would battle it out in a tight tournament that saw several games end in 1-1 draws. But, a Sunday morning win against Phoenix FC earned them the gold medals.

The U17 boys' team would also draw a couple of their games, 1-1, but a 4-0 win on Sunday afternoon against Sting FC in the bronze medal game earned them a solid finish.

The U17 girls' team would end up in fourth place after taking part in a competitive Tier 2 pool.
