ST. PAUL – Parents have been informed of leadership changes at the Glen Avon School in St. Paul as Principal Kandy Songer has taken a leave of absence.
According to a letter sent to parents earlier in the week, Assistant Principal Ryan Pashko is serving as the interim principal at the K-9 school until Jan. 31.
Beginning on Feb. 3, Angela Noel, assistant principal at St. Paul Regional High School, will serve as the acting principal at Glen Avon for the remainder of the school year.
In a Jan. 23 statement to Lakeland This Week, St. Paul Education Superintendent Peter Barron expressed confidence in Noel.
"Mrs. Angela Noel is a highly experienced and capable administrator," he said. "She is already well known throughout our school division and the wider community, which will undoubtedly help her quickly earn the trust and support of the school community."
He added, "I am confident that the transition will be managed smoothly and efficiently."
Barron also acknowledged that administrative changes may sometimes cause uncertainty for parents and students, "However, I want to reassure students, parents, and staff that Mrs. Noel's leadership will provide a stable and positive environment."
"I am confident that the transition will be managed smoothly and efficiently," said the superintendent.
