A snowfall warning is in effect for the Lakeland region.

LAKELAND - Although a stretch of warm weather saw a lot of the snow melt in the region over the last few weeks, residents should brace for some fresh snow on Thursday.

According to Environment Canada, it is expected to snow across much of the Lakeland region on March 13.

"Snowfall is expected to become heavy at times starting early Thursday morning. Before the snow ends Thursday evening, 10 to 20 cm of snow is expected," reads the weather alert from Environment Canada, which was released on March 12.

"Surfaces such as highways, roads, walkways and parking lots may become difficult to navigate due to accumulating snow. There may be a significant impact on rush hour traffic in urban areas. Be prepared to adjust your driving with changing road conditions."
