St. Paul Canadiens U15 female team wins provincial silver on home ice

The U15B female hockey provincials came to town March 28 to 30, bringing in hockey teams from across the province. The weekend started on Friday with round robin play, and opening ceremonies in the evening.

ST. PAUL - The U15B female hockey provincials came to town March 28 to 30, bringing in hockey teams from across the province. 

The weekend started on Friday with round robin play, and opening ceremonies in the evening. A banquet took place Friday night also. The day continue on Saturday with more round robin play, with four teams making it into semi-finals on Sunday.

After finishing first in their pool, the St. Paul Canadiens took on the 3C's Coyotes, winning the semi-final match-up by a score of 2-1, and earning a spot in the finals.

Also in the semi-finals were the Irma Aces, taking on the Wetaskiwin Queens. Irma won the game, 6-3.

After a scoreless first period between the Canadiens and the Aces on Sunday afternoon, Irma would open up scoring in the second period, but the game remained tight. The Aces would push through the third period, netting two more goals and securing the provincial win. The Canadiens would take home well-earned silver medals.
