St. Paul Regional FCSS launches "Experience St. Paul” connection cards

St. Paul Regional Family and Community Support Services (FCSS) has launched the “Experience St. Paul” connection card. The initiative will run from June 1 to Sept. 30.

ST. PAUL – St. Paul Regional Family and Community Support Services (FCSS) has launched the “Experience St. Paul” connection card. The initiative will run from June 1 to Sept. 30.

The initiative encourages people to explore multiple locations and activities available in St. Paul, many of which are free, including the Community Futures Art Walk along Main Street.

Lynn Smid, director of the St. Paul Regional FCSS, said that the card also aims to engage newcomers to tour their new community. Visitors are also encouraged to obtain their own card when they come and visit.

"The whole point behind FCSS being involved in this initiative regionally is because we're all about community connection,” says Smid.

“We want those who are coming to feel welcome in our community,” she says, explaining St. Paul has many things to offer, and the card just highlights some of these opportunities.

"We've got a little bit of everything on here and people might not know about these things if we don't highlight them,” says Smid.

The connection card is akin to a bingo card divided into different categories - Attractions, Activities, Good Eats, Shop, and Stay. It contains a number of discounts, goodies, and locations for people to explore.

For example, under Attractions, one could get a free admission at the St. Paul Museum if an adult purchased an admission.

Or under the Good Eats and Shop categories, some businesses offer discounts or even free items to a card holder.

People just have to bring their connect card when they visit these places to take advantage of these offers. They only need one card, and when they receive their perk, the participating business places an X mark to indicate the perk has been utilized.

Where to get the card?

Connection cards can be obtained at the UFO Tourist Information Centre, the St. Paul Regional FCSS office, Canalta Hotel, or at The Landing Hotel & Conference Centre.

People also have a chance to win a prize if they snap a selfie, either at one of the locations or all of the locations, and send them to: [email protected]
