Two people charged following break and enter at oil lease site

Bonnyville RCMP arrested two suspects after being called to an oilfield lease at 2 a.m. on Oct. 16 regarding an alleged break and enter in progress.

BONNYVILLE - Bonnyville RCMP arrested two suspects after being called to an oilfield lease at 2 a.m. on Oct. 16 regarding an alleged break and enter in progress.

Police arrived on scene and located the suspects of the reported break and enter. The suspects were found to be in possession of tools and drugs, according to information from RCMP.

"They had also packed their vehicle with a large quantity of copper wire from the site," according to RCMP.

Brent Perdonic, 40, of Cold Lake and Patti Wheaton, 48, of Cold Lake were both charged with possession of stolen property, mischief/damage to property over $5,000, possession of break-in tools, possession of methamphetamine and identity fraud. 

Perdonic was also charged with operating a vehicle without a licence. 

A bail hearing was held and a Justice of the Peace released both accused. Their first appearance in court is scheduled for Nov. 19.
