As the year draws to a close, City of Cold Lake Mayor Craig Copeland took some time to reflect on 2024 - a year of significant progress and persistent challenges – while also setting his sights on ambitious goals for 2025.  

The Cold Lake John Howard Society transformed its shelter into a festive haven, offering a warm holiday meal to anyone in need on Dec. 21.

The City of Cold Lake and District Family and Community Support Services (FCSS) is once again running its Snow Angels program, designed to assist residents in need with snow removal, while fostering a stronger sense of community. 

City of Cold Lake council finalized discussions on a seed grant for a baby box program at Covenant Health’s Bonnyville Health Centre at the Dec. 10 regular council meeting, confirming $25,000 to the project. 

The popular annual event-which has been taking place since 1984-is now the Lac La Biche Ice Festival of Speed.

COLD LAKE - The City of Cold Lake approved an amendment to the Criminal Record Check Fee Bylaw, implementing a slight increase in fees for 2025. 

City of Cold Lake council has reviewed the Recreation User Fee Policy, focusing on whether to change the marina slip rental fees from a system based on vessel length to a flat fee per slip, during the Dec. 10 regular council meeting. 

COLD LAKE - The City of Cold Lake amended its Taxi Bylaw to implement a small increase to the annual taxi license fee, raising it from $70 in 2024 to $72 in 2025.
