ELK POINT - Elk Point now has a second candidate for mayor in the Oct. 20 election, with current town councillor Wanda Cochrane submitting her nomination papers, and thanking “The community members that believe in me and were willing to sign my papers in support.”
Among the current bombardment of federal election campaigns, Cochrane says she will limit campaigning for the time being, but as a current council member, says she “would love to discuss any concerns you may have, so please feel free to reach out to me if you have any questions or concerns. I would be happy to make arrangements to discuss them with you.”
She says she is also looking forward to meeting as many town residents as she can in the months leading up to the election.
Cochrane now shares the ballot with former town councillor Terri Hampson, with the opportunity for additional candidates to submit nominations for mayor or council until noon on Sept. 22.
