LAC LA BICHE - Lac La Biche RCMP are asking the public to assist in their investigation of an armed robbery at a local hotel at the start of the week.

Just after midnight on Monday, Sept. 13, RCMP were called about a robbery that had just occurred at the Parkland II Motel on the west entrance to the Lac La Biche hamlet.

No one was physically injured and a quantity of cash and cigarettes were reported stolen.

The reception and check-in area of the hotel complex is located a few hundred feet from Highway 55 across and the Welcome to Lac La Biche entrance signs across a large parking area. The reception area is at the front of a horseshoe hotel complex that houses about 100 rooms.

Police say the suspect had fled the area before police arrived.
