RCMP check on Saturday school alarm call

Lac La Biche francophone school alarms draw police response

The school bells haven't been ringing for a few weeks at Lac La Biche's Ecole St. Catherine, but on Saturday night, the francophone school's alarm bells sounded – followed by police sirens.

Lac La Biche RCMP responded to the 9pm alarm call at the school on 103 Street, with lights and sirens engaged, driving onto the school property and around to the south entrance where they began checking all doors and windows around the building .

There were no visible signs of entry as police made sure the building was secure.
