LAC LA BICHE - After a lack-lustre loss to the Vermilion Tigers in Friday night's away game, the Lac La Biche Junior B Clippers scared up some redemption in their next two home games on a busy Halloween weekend of hockey.
The Clippers beat the Lloydminster Bandits 10-6 on Saturday night at the Bold Center and took regional rival the Cold Lake Ice to a 4-3 shoot-out win at the Sunday afternoon matinee game.
The Halloween weekend wins moved the Clippers further away from the scary basement of the North Eastern Alberta Junior B Hockey League standings, spiriting them into a tie for fourth place of the seven-team league.
The weekend brings the Clippers to four wins and five losses on the season, with a game in hand over most of the other teams.
Clippers forward Keanu Foulds also cracked the top-10 points leaders chart in the league with his weekend performance. The six-foot Clipper forward notched five assists over the weekend, boosting his points tally to three goals and 10 assists in nine games.
Game 10 of the season for the Lac La Biche squad — a Sunday re-match with the Vermilion Tigers — is the only game of the coming weekend for the team. The matinee game starts at 4 pm at the Bold Center.
