Cold weather warning still in effect, warmer weather expected this week

The Lakeland region remains under an extreme cold warning on Feb. 18, but temperatures are expected to warm up by Wednesday.

LAKELAND - The Lakeland region remains under an extreme cold warning on Feb. 18, but temperatures are expected to warm up by Wednesday.

"Extremely cold wind chill values between minus 40 and minus 45 continue," reads the extreme cold weather warning by Environment Canada.

Wind chill values will moderate somewhat during the day on Tuesday, but extreme cold is expected to return tonight for some regions, according to the weather warning.

"Conditions will moderate Wednesday afternoon."
