ST. PAUL – The County of St. Paul approved its list of road oiling projects for 2025. All six divisions will have roads oiled this year.

Public Works Director Scott Jeffery spoke during the County’s Public Works meeting on March 25, and said administration will try to utilize its reclaimers “to their fullest extent this summer.”

He explained some of the scopes this year will not require much oiling but rather have to be repaired back to a functioning state.

One particular road in a challenging condition is a road located near Boyne Lake, leading to the Floating Stone subdivision, said Jeffery.

The road has existing oil from the intersection to Highway 866, “But going down the hill, it's in extremely bad shape, and it's mostly grass,” he said.

The County did a late reclamation on the stretch of road last summer due to its poor state and plans to fully rehabilitate the road this year.

Oiling scopes

In Division 1, 3.2 km will be oiled from Range Road 61, south from Township Road 560 to Township Road 554.

A 1.4 km portion of Range Road 53 south from Township Road 562 will also be oiled.

Divisions 2, 3, 4

In Division 2, sections of Range Road 71 will be oiled, both north and south of Township Road 560, for a total of 2.7 km.

Division 3 will see work on Range Road 83, north of Highway 29 for 2.8 km.

Projects in Division 4 include Range Road 101, south of Township Road 580 for 2.6 km; and Range Road 103, north of Township Road 572 for 1.6 km.

Divisions 5

Division 5 and 6 have the most extensive oiling scopes this year.

In Division 5, 7 km of oiling is planned, specifically at sections of Range Road 113 north of Township Road 594A for 3.6 km; Range Road 105 north of Township Road 590 for 2.4 km, and Range Road 104 south of Highway 28 for one kilometre.

Divisions 6

A total of 7.8 km of roads will be oiled in Division 6. The County will oil 3.2 km of Range Road 100, from Township Road 612 to Township Road 614.

Township Road 614, east of Highway 866, will have 3.6 km of the road oiled, as well.

Township Road 610, also east of Highway 866, moving toward Range Road 120A, will also be oiled for one kilometre.
