A man remains in critical condition after a shooting occurred at the St. Brides Store during the evening of June 21.

Just before 10 p.m., St. Paul RCMP and emergency services were dispatched to a firearms complaint at the St. Brides Store, west of St. Paul. When police arrived it was determined that a 31-year-old male received a single gunshot wound to the upper abdomen, according to a RCMP press release received Monday morning.

The man was brought to local hospital and later flown by STARS Air Ambulance to Edmonton, where he remains.

“Two suspects were identified by a witness at the scene,” says the release. “The suspect’s abandoned vehicle was located a short time later in Saddle Lake.”

According to the release, a third suspect was later identified and taken into custody, while efforts continue to be made to locate the first two identified suspects.

“The investigation into the incident is still ongoing,” says the release, which further states that no names will be released at this time.

“RCMP believe that this was an isolated incident and that the victim and suspects were known to each other.”
