Two men charged with murder

Bonnyville RCMP charged two men in connection with the death of a 21-year-old Ashmont man after an “an apparent physical fight” at the Glendon Hotel early in the morning on Wednesday, according to an RCMP press release on Thursday.

Bonnyville RCMP charged two men in connection with the death of a 21-year-old Ashmont man after an “an apparent physical fight” at the Glendon Hotel early in the morning on Wednesday, according to an RCMP press release on Thursday.

Edgar Kenneth Milnthorp, a 31-year-old male from Ardmore, and Shannon John Burshtinski, a 37-year-old male from Glendon, have been charged with the second degree murder of Jesse Brendan Miller.

Both charged men turned themselves in at the Bonnyville detachment.

A patrol located the deceased lying outside the hotel after receiving a call at 1:15 a.m., the press release states.

RCMP Forensic Identification Section examined the scene. Several RCMP officers remained on the scene until late on Wednesday afternoon. RCMP cordoned off a large section of downtown Glendon with yellow police tape.

The Edmonton Medical Examiner’s office conducted an autopsy on Thursday. The cause and manner of death is not available at this time, pending further investigation by the Medical Examiner’s office.
