GALLERY: Racette Jr. High band rocks out to the '80s

Students in the Racette Jr. High School band program performed a number of 80s inspired hits.

ST. PAUL - Students from the band program at Racette Jr. High School performed a set of songs inspired by the 1980s on June 14.

The junior high school's gymnasium was filled with family, friends and staff eager to attend the first spring concert since the pandemic began over two years ago. From Queen to Ozzy Osbourne, and wrapping up with The Final Countdown by Europe, the night offered a chance to travel back in time.

Music teacher Marc Levasseur directed the band, which brings together about 150 students for some songs.

Students in Grades 7 to 9 took the opportunity to sift through their parents' closets and dress the part, decked out in some impressive '80s inspired outfits.

The night also included a fine arts showcase, with plenty of student artwork on display.
