Staff members at a St. Paul school acted quickly on March 31 when an unknown person entered the St. Paul Elementary School.

The U15B female hockey provincials came to town March 28 to 30, bringing in hockey teams from across the province. The weekend started on Friday with round robin play, and opening ceremonies in the evening.

A Town of St. Paul councilor said the proposed membership fees for Alberta Bilingual Municipal Association’s (ABMA) is insulting, criticizing the structure of being unfair to smaller municipalities. 

On March 10, the Town of St. Paul suspended application intakes from a provincial immigration program, noting challenges in the program’s implementation and limited benefits to the community.

Residents can make an appointment by calling the FCSS office at 780-645-5311, or dropping by at the office. Residents must prepare all the necessary paperwork, including their tax slips, income support slips, and identification documents prior to their appointment. 

The County of St. Paul approved its list of road oiling projects for 2025. All six divisions will have roads oiled this year. 

Money raised will go toward Mallaig School’s athletic program as students are expected to lose access to the gymnasium in the future, as construction of a new school takes place. 

Pie by pie, the Mallaig community raised just under $4,000 for the Mallaig Baptist Church Youth Group and the Mallaig and District Museum during a fundraiser on March 21.
